It is the Mission of Therapeutic Martial Arts International to Educate, Inspire and Empower martial arts instructors and school operators to deliver highest quality therapy based martial arts programs to all members of our global society.
What: An International Martial Arts Trade Organization that that has the Vision seeing One Million People with a Disability become empowered via Martial Arts education. We are the global pioneer and leader of educational platforms for instructors and school operators to operate knowledgeable and profitable therapeutic (special needs) programs.
Why: To empower our global society. We fully believe and advocate that Martial Arts is for All people; it is especially impactful for individuals living with special needs (disabilities). As the Martial Arts community embraces ALL students, we will create ever-lasting positive change in the lives of countless people… Martial Arts will be a catalyst for global change.
There is currently a lack of support, guidance and awareness of Therapeutic Martial Arts and it our mandate to offer all the tools necessary to empower martial arts instructors, coaches, masters and dojo owners to grow.

We also offer various Certifications to bring credibility and legitimacy to our certified instructors. Michael Sirota – Founder
Therapeutic Martial Arts International is the vision of Master Michael Sirota who has been a pioneer in developing, implementing and promoting martial arts programs for individuals with various special needs and disabilities. Master Sirota’s mission is to see millions of people with all types of disabilities benefit from martial arts training. Since 1999, Master Sirota’s schools in Vancouver, Canada have welcomed over two thousand special needs students of all abilities. Sirota’s Alchymy is the only Martial Arts School that is recognized by the Ministry of Children and Family as a Service Provider for the Autism Funding. The School that are for-profit also receive various financial support from various foundations and non-profits. Most recently, Sirota’s Alchymy – Martial Arts & Life Skills Centers won the Business of the Year by the Autism BC.
In addition, Michael Sirota has been instrumental in globally bringing awareness and leadership to the development and globalization of Para-Taekwondo. The Global Para-Taekwondo University which was created by Michael Sirota has certified instructors in over thirty countries.

As one of two new sports currently invited to bid for inclusion on the Paralympic Games programme in 2020, the sport is making great progress in becoming inclusive of people with disabilities, and Michael has been a key champion of this cause.”
